Stephen is beginning an investigative bible discussion with several freshman guys tonight also so we are excited to see how that will go and what God will do! We are enjoying doing ministry together so much and feel so blessed to be able to share in this work together!
A year ago something peculiar happened… It was a typical day and I had been praying for college ministry positions, when Lisa, after reading 'The Peace Child', turned to me and said "let's do it...let's move to a college town and become missionaries." This realization ignited a series of events which eventually led us to come on staff with The Navigators at Oregon State University and to live at the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity as House Parents. What a wonderfully sovereign God we worship!

Girls Bible Study Update . . .
We met last night to give the girls a little taste of what we will be doing next term and talk about when to meet. 15 girls showed up! and several girls e-mailed us to let us know that they couldn't come to the meeting but still really want to be involved. The girls come from a variety of spiritual backgrounds but they all seem game for reading the bible and talking about it a bit. Morgan and I were super encouraged. The biggest praise of all is that somehow we were all able to agree on meeting next term on Tuesday nights from 6-7, Wow I could hardly believe it! But I guess I shouldn't have been so surprised because God is good and answers our prayers!

20 girls said yes!
This past Monday Morgan and I had the opportunity to do a survey at one of the sororities here on campus. I have been meeting with two of the girls in this sorority who are Christians and they had expressed the desire to possibly start a bible study in their house. I have been encouraged to see their hearts for their sorority sisters to know Christ. We decided to do a very short survey to see who might even be interested.
basically the survey asks three questions:
1. What's your spiritual background if any?
2. How would you describe your faith currently? (not interested, curious, enthusiastic)
3. Would you be interested in participating in a bible study or investigative bible discussion in your house?
We had 20 girls fill out the survey and say they would be interested in a bible study! I wasn't really aware of this since this is the first time I had done a survey in a house, but this is one of the biggest responses the Navigators have ever had to a survey at a sorority or fraternity before! Wow! Also, a few staff women surveyed this same house a couple of years ago and not a single person responded. God must be doing something in this house! We are now working on setting up a time to get these women together and we will hopefully begin the investigative bible discussion next term. We are excited and encouraged by what God is doing!
